PROG-ROCK IS MORE THAN A GENRE
Futureworld Orchestra is known for its synthesisers, electronic textures and highly produced sound. But behind FWO is Robert Pot — and Progressive Rock has always held a very special place in his musical heart.
Genesis, Yes, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and the great keyboard players and composers from that world played an important part in shaping his musical development.
Not because Prog-Rock has to be complicated, but because it is music that leaves room for adventure, musicianship, long musical arcs, unexpected turns, distinctive sounds and, above all: a musical identity of your own.
An eight-minute track doesn't need to become a three-minute track. A concept album doesn't need to be reduced to a collection of individual singles. And you don't have to chase every new trend to remain relevant.
But the people your music IS meant for need to be able to find you.
That is often the real challenge.
That takes more than good music alone.
It takes someone who understands that Prog-Rock doesn't need to be made simpler first before it can be marketed successfully.
That is where Robert and FWO may become interesting to you.
Not to tell you what Prog-Rock should sound like.
Not to turn you into a different band.
But to explore together how
your music, your identity, your story, your audience and your fanbase
can become part of one coherent whole.
